Ensured roll reliability and improved performance through roll service agreement
To ensure its paper machine roll reliability and availability, the Kerinci mill has entered a full-scope roll service agreement, including a condition monitoring system. Cooperation started in 2014 on consulting basis and extended in 2016 when PM 3 started up. Customer wanted Valmet to move from earlier advisory role to having real responsibility for roll maintenance and workshop operations.

The value comes from the competence. “As for value, it is mainly a question of competence: it’s much wiser to depend on people who do this as their main job and have long experience in roll maintenance,” says Ahonen. With the help of remote analysis problems can be detected before they develop into machine failures. |
