Running two different sheet weights on 1PM, the mill noticed that when changing weights, the sheet tracked to the far edge of one side of the suction drum roll. After taking hours to adjust the end deckle seals, the mill was looking for a time-saving solution that will increase production.
In 2019, Ajin P&P decided to rebuild its paper machine PM 2 with a target to increase the mill’s production and improve the end-product quality. The rebuild was delivered by Valmet and it included OptiAir Recovery mist remediation to reduce and eliminate mist and enable the increase of heat recovery capacity.
The steadily growing global demand for tissue is increasing the need for new technologies targeting improved material, time and energy efficiency in production. Valmet’s Intelligent Roll Solutions for tissue offer effective tools for tissue making from wet end to rewinder to achieve these goals.

Arctia Karhu has several harbour icebreakers in the Finnish coastal waters. One of them is the harbor icebreaker Ahto. It is involved in supporting icy navigation and working as a tugboat to help LNG vessels get safely to the port. The operating process in the vessel is controlled using the Valmet DNA automation system.
I work as a category manager in customer mill and construction site procurement at Valmet’s Operational Development team. I have been working twenty years at Valmet in various roles, such as in site planning and cost estimation, production, procurement, and sales development.
