Here you can learn more about Valmet's tissue industry. Read and browse through different content types.
For decades, Valmet has been designing and manufacturing machinery for nonwovens producers. Perhaps surprisingly, our technology is inspired by the beauty of nature. Today, we can offer full end-of-line equipment while continuously developing our offering.
When Crown Paper Mill decided to build a new tissue line in Abu Dhabi they had to face a critical issue: How to build an efficient and sustainable tissue production line in an area with limited natural resources like energy, water and raw materials?
High efficiency, runnability and improved tissue quality were key factors for Sofidel when they decided rebuilding their TM 3 in Kisa Sweden. Valmet was granted the order thanks to the Advantage ViscoNip press well proven flexibility and capability to increase runnability, uniformity and paper properties. The new Advantage ViscoNip press will replace the existing shoe press in TM3.
Sofidel has decided to install a Valmet Advantage ViscoNip press and an Advantage ReDry in their TM1 tissue machine at Baglan Mill in UK. The new press will replace the existing suction press roll with the target to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions in line with their sustainability strategy.
“Our philosophy is to go for low energy consumption and lowest possible emissions to air and water. The Advantage DCT technology is the most efficient and best choice for the grades we will produce. With this new tissue line, we expect to produce the best tissue quality combined with the lowest energy consumption” says Dario Palma y Meza Espinoza, Operational Director, Papel San Francisco.
PM35 Yankee was close to derating, and to keep up the thickness of the Yankee shell and the steam pressure, Metsä Tissue Katrinefors decided to thermal spray it. As Infinikote-1 on PM36 had run successfully, it was natural to choose Valmet as a supplier again.
Reduce refining intensity and extend the life of disk refiner segments, while also providing a safer way to operate. Valmet Refiner Segments – Pro safe are 75% lighter than traditional cast disk refiner segments and can move refining performance forward. Let Valmet be your co-driver for success!
The goal of this Tissue Talks speaker is to “bring the next great opportunity to the paper industry”. And by working with a team of Valmet experts and researchers in collaboration with University of Maine, his vision has a good chance to become reality. David Cowles, Global Market Development Manager, Nanotechnologies at Valmet, is the right person to guide us through what micro fibrillated cellulose is and the many different ways it can be used.
