Valmet has been reconfirmed as a constituent of the Ethibel Sustainability Index (ESI) Excellence Europe since October 18, 2019 for the fourth consecutive year. The composition of the indices is reviewed twice a year.
Valmet’s seasonal donation enabled medical care to 3,000 people in Yemen
Valmet’s seasonal donation has helped Save the Children to pay for a mobile health clinic for a month, providing medical care to around 3,000 people.
Valmet's impact to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals
As a global company, Valmet has an opportunity to impact the development of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Valmet's Sustainability360˚ agenda and the connected action plans are aligned with the SDGs. Also, all the targets in Valmet's sustainability action plan contribute to the goals. From the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Valmet has defined four goals that are the most material for Valmet’s operations.
100 young people learned about the working life at Valmet
A hundred young people learned about the working life at Valmet. Participants to the training periods in the spring and fall included both unemployed people and people participating in the VALMA preparatory vocational education. Three-week training periods were arranged at Valmet sites in Tampere, Pori, Ulvila, Järvenpää, Jyväskylä, Raisio, Kajaani and Espoo.
Valmet supports education of children with SOS Children's Villages of India
For over 50 years, the SOS Children's Villages of India has been providing family-based care for parentless or abandoned children in India. Valmet has been supporting the organization since 2007 by helping its work to benefit children in need of care and protection.
