Butterfly valves

Comprehensive range of butterfly valves

Neles™ butterfly valves are designed to truly optimize the efficiency of process operations by offering best-in-class valve capacity. They provide long-lasting tightness and industry-leading valve reliability, certified to SIL 3. Our product range includes both metal and soft-seated and rubber-lined butterfly valves.

Butterfly valves for all applications

A butterfly valve is a rotary valve (quarter turn valve) using a disc as the closure member. Butterfly valves can be either symmetric or eccentric (=offset), the latter referring to the stem being displaced from the center of the disc. Neles and Jamesbury butterfly valve offering covers concentric, double eccentric and triple eccentric designs. Thus, Jamesbury and Neles butterfly valves are a superb choice for most applications.
Neles and Jamesbury butterfly valves are available with wafer style (no flanges), lugged (single flange) and double-flanged body types. This along with comparably short face-to-face dimension makes them versatile and cost-efficient solutions for a variety of on/off and control applications. Extreme tightness performance makes the butterfly valves optimal for tight shut-off on/off applications and their inherent modified equal percentage flow characteristic makes them an excellent solution for a control valve.

Efficient range of butterfly valves

Compact means efficient

Our butterfly valves are designed to be as compact and lightweight as possible. This creates savings on both raw material consumption and energy needed for transport, which lowers the manufacturing and logistics chain's environmental impact and carbon footprint. The optimized weight and dimensions also make for easier and safer installation, replacement and maintenance.

Highest Cv on the butterfly valve market

Our Neldisc and Wafer-Sphere valves come equipped with the highest Cv on the butterfly valve market. With significantly lower pressure losses comes the lower need for pumping energy. This spells out energy savings that make your process more environmentally friendly and more profitable. The high Cv can also mean sizing down on your valves and thus also your actuators.

Lower torque need

Our high-quality butterfly valves also have a lower torque need, which in cases may allow you to select and install a smaller actuator as a part of your valve assembly. This helps improve process sustainability and deliver capital savings. It allows you to reduce everything from weight and the need for additional piping support, to process vibrations and process air consumption. Again, this means lower energy consumption.

What is a butterfly valve?

Butterfly valves are extremely versatile and suitable for many control and shutoff applications. These quarter-turn valves open and close by turning the disc 90° inside the flow port. Butterfly valves are compact and lightweight in comparison to many other valve types and still, they can handle harsh conditions and processes. Low torque requirement, wide controllable range and tight shutoff create a unique combination of features for sustainable process control.

Designs ranging from lined utility valves to high-performance triple offset butterfly valves with full metal sealing, ensure a cost-effective and space-saving solutions for almost every industry, application and flow media.
