APP is scaling up for the future with the investment in a huge new paper manufacturing complex in Rudong, China. The mill aims to realize the benefits of scale by taking advantage of digitalization, future-oriented design and energy-efficient technology. 20 Valmet tissue machines were delivered and successfully started.
Huawon Paper, a decorative paper manufacturer based in Zhejiang, China, successfully started up its PM 16 production line in December 2022. The line is equipped with Valmet's quality control systems, ensuring improved process performance and end-product quality.
Valmet RM3 is helping Kipaş Kağıt PM1 measure and control their headbox and white water consistency. The analyzer is reliable and maintains the stability in the wet end of their fast-running board machine. With Valmet RM3, the mill maintains competitiveness through continuous real-time monitoring of retention.

Valmet's comprehensive delivery included three OptiFlo Fourdrinier headboxes, an OptiPress Linear press section, and an OptiSizer Film size press with a supply system.
Metsä Group's Äänekoski bioproduct mill, located in Central Finland. It produces 1.3 million tonnes of softwood and birch pulp annually. Valmet's Lime Kiln Optimizer has been implemented in 2022, resulting in significant process optimization and increased energy efficiency at the mill.
The Advantage™ ViscoNip® press and ReDry™ rebuilds at Sofidel’s tissue mills demonstrate benefits related to improved product quality, increased flexibility and machine runnability. In line with their multi-option strategy for reducing environmental footprint they also contribute to lower energy consumption.
Nippon Steel Engineering, in Japan, wanted to increase the amount of dewatered sludge to the drying plant. With Valmet DS and Valmet HS their input moisture increased by 3.3% and the output moisture by 1%. At the same time, their fuel usage per moisture input was decreased by 5.5%.
Facing challenges in achieving accurate and reliable consistency measurements, Modern Karton, Turkey, turned to Valmet for a solution that could withstand harsh conditions. By implementing Valmet OCR (Optical Consistency Measurement) in PM4, the mill achieved significant improvements in their consistency control processes.
