Sofidel has decided to install a Valmet Advantage ViscoNip press and an Advantage ReDry in their TM1 tissue machine at Baglan Mill in UK. The new press will replace the existing suction press roll with the target to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions in line with their sustainability strategy. After the rebuild the machine will have wider flexibility to control and finetune the pressing parameters and thereby reach high dryness level and improve paper properties and runnability.
“In Sofidel we have challenging greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets and the installation of the Advantage ViscoNip press and ReDry we’ll help us to meet our sustainability targets and at the same time increase flexibility and paper properties for the future in the conventional paper segment” says Davide Mainardi, Sofidel Chief Technical Officer.
“The Advantage ViscoNip press’ flexibility and capability to improve paper properties and reduce energy consumption is proven by more than 80 ViscoNip presses sold to tissue producers around the world. This is a winning concept and We are proud to work together with Sofidel and support their efforts to reduce the CO2 footprint at Baglan in UKt” says Johan Björn
