Sunds Defibrator to Deliver TwinRoll Press to Chuetsu

In a project to improve the efficiency in the post-oxygen washing stage at its mill in Sendai, on the island of Kyushu, Chuetsu Pulp & Paper Co. Ltd, Japan, has placed an order with Sunds Defibrator for a TwinRoll displacement wash press.

The newTwinRoll press, type DPA-1245, will be installed in the mill´s 770 tpd mixed hardwood line, where Chuetsu is looking for an improved pitch removal through washing. The current washing stage only contains filters. In addition to the mixed hardwood line, Chuetsu is also running a softwood line with a capacity of approximately 550 tpd.

The delivery of the TwinRoll press will take place in September, with start-up scheduled for late December 1999.
