Building mill-wide automation for the mill of the future

With mill-wide automation, the mill aims to run the new mill in a balanced way, control the process and ensure its running flawlessly, and through that, ensure high quality, cost-effectiveness and environmental efficiency. Building a mill-wide automation system is a big project. Everything needs to work smoothly when the mill starts up. For a successful start-up, one of the most important phases in the project is the factory acceptance testing (FAT) of the system. Metsä Fibre team and Valmet professionals are doing FAT at the same time in Tampere, and remotely from Kemi.
