Valmet has signed a non-exclusive Value-Added Reseller (VAR) partnership agreement with Bilfinger GreyLogix, based in Flensburg, Germany. The two companies are combining forces to provide a comprehensive range of complementary automation services and equipment for the power and process industries, particularly in Europe and the Middle East.

Close cooperation in distributed control systems (DCS) and turbine control applications will be beneficial for both companies. A win-win result is achievable with Valmet's expertise in power plant and turbine applications, together with Bilfinger GreyLogix's existing end-customer relationships, their complementary equipment and services, as well as their own application knowledge.

Automation is a key business for Bilfinger GreyLogix, who will sell the Valmet DNA system as part of their total delivery scope to end customers. Additionally, Bilfinger GreyLogix is aiming to provide automation platforms to the entire Bilfinger Group, so both companies are looking forward to future growth potential.

"At Bilfinger GreyLogix, we're also aiming for a partnership based on real cooperation. Both companies have vast experience, and we trust we will expand our automation business together. Valmet is well known in some very interesting automation segments that will give us opportunities to have access to new customers," says Michael Knöthig, Sales Manager, Bilfinger GreyLogix.

Mutual growth in power and process industries

"The agreement is in line with our strategy to increase our market activities in the areas where Bilfinger GreyLogix is currently operating. As Bilfinger GreyLogix has established its strong presence especially in the Middle East, we see high potential in expanding our power and process automation system business in cooperation with our new partner," says Kari S. Heikkilä, Director, Partner Business, Automation, Valmet.

Theo Muench, Sales Director, Valmet, adds: "We are looking forward to fruitful and open cooperation with Bilfinger GreyLogix. Together we are aiming for new customers and a larger installed base also in countries where Valmet does not have its own presence. Therefore, we see that future joint business development will be mutually advantageous."
