Metso to deliver two board machines to Nine Dragons Paper

Metso Paper will deliver two board machines to Nine Dragons Paper. The delivery includes a light-weight fluting machine and a linerboard machine. Startup of the lines is scheduled for early 2009. The value of the order is not disclosed. The market value of these types of board machines is around EUR 50 million per unit, depending on the scope of delivery. The order is included in Metso's 2007 fourth quarter order backlog.

The 7.25-m-wide fluting machine will have a design speed of 1,400 m/min. The complete 3-ply linerboard machine will have a wire width of 7.25 m and a design speed of 1,150 m/min. It will produce kraft top liner and testliner grades.

Established in 1995 and listed in the Hong Kong Exchanges in 2006, Nine Dragons Paper is China's largest producer of containerboard. The combined annual production capacity of its two mills, Dongguan and Taicang, is 5.35 million tonnes.
