Exchanging experiences with pulp washing equipment

Valmet arranged a seminar on 1-2 June 2022 in Tällberg, Sweden, to allow Scandinavian chemical pulp mills to exchange their experience of pulp washing equipment. Around forty people from nine different mills participated in the event, the focus of which was roller presses and washing filters.
After being welcomed to the seminar, each mill was given the usual opportunity to describe their background, current status and future plans. This is always a popular and interesting item on the agenda. Mats Nordgren then gave his, and Valmet’s, view of the future of chemical pulp: what are the trends? In the afternoon, we discussed roller presses and washing filters from both process and constructional aspects, and the upgrade options we can recommend. The day was rounded off with group work.

Day two began with a presentation of the service agreements that Valmet offers. This was followed by the next item, which was the industrial internet and training. The last presentation was held by Lennart Nilsson, who has very long experience of service in the field. He described the issues he encounters most often when servicing machines, and had useful tips and suggestions as to how such problems can be avoided. The seminar was concluded with more group work.
