Sustainability: Körber presents strategies and opportunities at the Tissue Summit Brasil 2023

Besides presenting two lectures on ESG, the company won the Tissue Online Award in the category "Machinery & Equipment - Tissue Converting and Personal Care".

On March 8 and 9, 2023, the main decision-makers of the Brazilian tissue industry gathered at the Tissue Summit Brasil 2023 to learn about news, share innovations and celebrate the industry's advances. The two-day event’s main theme was "ESG, innovating with responsibility", and was filled with high-level networking, presentations, exhibitions and new business.

"The ESG agenda and the transition to a sustainable tissue product portfolio has gained even more focus in the post-pandemic scenario. During the event, we had the opportunity to address the topic, its challenges, and how Körber can help converters on their strategic journeys towards sustainable development," says Mauro Luna, President of the Körber Business Area Tissue in Brazil.

Körber was present at the event, together with its embossing partners in Brazil - Roll-Tec -, clearing up doubts, exhibiting its broad portfolio of sustainable solutions and giving two exclusive lectures on the theme.

The challenges and opportunities of esg in the tissue industry

The new ESG reality brings numerous challenges, but also opportunities. Mauro Luna, addressed the theme in his presentation, showing how the new landscape impacts the tissue industry and how Körber is ready to strategically support its customers in this trajectory.

"As a global technology group, we understand the importance of conscious and responsible development. That's why Körber prioritizes the implementation of the ESG agenda in all its business areas, and in the tissue industry, we offer our customers a strategic partnership in developing an ecosystem approach: the Körber Sustainability concept," says Luna.

The Körber concept of sustainability

Filippe Dalponte, Business Development Manager at Körber Business Area Tissue Brazil, spoke about Körber's vision on the subject and how sustainability can be approached from different pillars: Layout, efficiency, resources, service and product.

"Sustainability is not and cannot be a one-way street. The growing popularity of the topic, added to the ESG agenda, has brought numerous cases of greenwashing practices. Therefore, we believe that sustainability must be implemented with responsibility and coherence, being part of the companies' daily decisions and covering several pillars that impact both the production and the final product", comments Filippe.

Tissue Online Award

One of the highlights of the event was the Tissue Online Award, a tribute to the personalities, companies and products that have stood out in the market over the past year.

With the most complete portfolio of advanced, digitally integrated solutions for the entire tissue value chain: from rolls to folding, from converting and embossing to packaging and palletizing, Körber was awarded in the category Machinery & Equipment - Tissue Converting and Personal Care.

"We return home extremely happy and grateful for these days of connection, and bringing with us the Tissue Online Award, which we dedicate to the entire Körber family, our customers and partners - together, we drive the success of the tissue industry," concludes Mauro Luna.
