Plug screw feeder

ADI is a plug screw feeder that feeds chips continuously into a pressurized or liquid-filled vessel.
The screw feeder consists of a chip inlet, tapered compression zone, chip/and drain outlet. The feed screw is journaled by oil-lubricated bearings, and driven by a frequency controlled AC-motor via a foot-mounted gear reducer. The shaft is sealed with a stuffing box.
The plug screw feeder compresses the chips to:
- Remove pitch, water and remaining air, without shortening fiber length
- The highly compressed chips are discharged into the impregnator via a blow-back piston
- The pressate is recycled back to the chip wash to maximize pulp yield
- The screw is easy to operate and needs very little maintenance
