Valmet supports the University of Jyväskylä with a donation of EUR 50,000.

”With the donation we want to show our commitment to the development of the Central Finland region and support the important work that the university is doing for science and education. The University of Jyväskylä is an important partner for Valmet, promoting sustainable development themes that are important to our company, and like Valmet, having a strong focus on looking forward,” says Anu Salonsaari-Posti, SVP, Marketing, Communications, Sustainability and Corporate Relations at Valmet.

“Valmet belongs to those partners of our university that have been there the longest. As neighbors, as well as through our common goals and values, we have a close cooperation that boosts the vitality of the region. The university offers companies a way to utilize high quality research of international level and to co-create innovations. Valmet, for their part, has offered a tempting career path to various graduates of our university, representing different disciplines. We highly value Valmet’s donation and partnership and invite them to innovate with us new ways of cooperation,” says Keijo Hämäläinen, Rector of the University of Jyväskylä.

The state of Finland finances universities through matching funds that are divided between universities, based on the amount of private funds universities have gathered.
