Valmet will supply a Valmet IQ Steam Profiler and associated cross-direction moisture control to the Ahlstrom-Munksjö mill in Billingsfors, Sweden. The new profiling steambox, to be installed before the press section of paper machine PM6, will provide effective moisture profile management and improved drying performance for better product quality while reducing steam usage.
“This is a very special case; PM6 produces specialty paper with Yankee cylinder drying with the IQ Steam Profiler. As we have a lot of experience in similar applications with tissue, we know that this solution will provide the Billingsfors mill with the best possible moisture profile control to improve production efficiency and paper quality”
Further details about Valmet’s delivery
The Valmet IQ Steam Profiler is a multi-zone steambox system that provides unique profiling accuracy through its electromechanical actuator with position feedback. It features advanced steam injection technology that maximizes steam absorption efficiency and temperature increase to provide increased dryness after the press. The delivery will include most of the auxiliary components including pneumatic retraction equipment, steam system, operator interface, and CD moisture control.
The installation and startup of the delivery are scheduled towards the end of the year 2020.
