Scrap separator

A scrap separator is designed for removing impurities such as stones and sand from the chips to reduce wear of refiner segments as well as feed screws, pumps, valves and other equipment
The agitator with paddles forces the chips under the water surface in the vessel. An upward current of fresh water protects the chips from entering the scrap trap, while heavy particles sink to the bottom and are collected.
From the scrap separator the chips flow into a chip sump to be pumped away to a screw drainer.
