The Metso supplied PM 4 tissue machine at Fabrica De Papel San Francisco S.A. de C.V., in Mexicali, Mexico set a new 24-hour world speed record for tissue production running at an average of 2,160 m/min on March 18, 2009.

“I am impressed, but not surprised. The tissue makers at Fabrica De Papel San Francisco are highly competent and very well organized. They always strive for the best quality and results”, says Jan Erikson, Vice President, Sales, Metso’s Tissue business line.

The Advantage DCT 100TS supplied by Metso is a crescent former type tissue machine that started up in September 2006. The design speed of the 2.6-m-wide machine is 2,200 m/min, and its production of bathroom tissue, napkin and towel grades is based on 100 % recycled furnish.

The Advantage DCT 100TS belongs to Metso’s program of standardized tissue machines with capacities ranging from 40 to 300 ton per day. Since the introduction of the Advantage DCT tissue making concept in 2004, Metso has delivered more than 25 machines of this type.

Fabrica De Papel San Francisco now operates three tissue production lines and converting facilities, delivering tissue products for the Mexican market. The Mexicali mill will this summer start up PM 5, their second Advantage DCT 100TS tissue machine from Metso.
