Metso Paper will supply a complete tissue machine to Fabrica De Papel San Francisco S.A. de C.V., in Mexicali, Mexico. The tissue production line will start up in the third quarter of 2006. The value of the order is not disclosed.
The scope of the order consists of an Advantage DCT 100 TS tissue machine, which represents Metso Paper's newest, cost-efficient tissue machine concept. The machine is equipped with a SymFlo™ TIS headbox and a Yankee cylinder with a diameter of 5.0 m. The design speed of the 2.6-m-wide tissue machine is 2,200 m/min.
The new tissue line will use 100 % recycled fiber as raw material. The machine will produce 30,000 tons per year of dry crepe tissue which will be used for bathroom tissue, napkin and towel production.
Metso Paper Karlstad, Sweden, will manage the order and Metso unit in Gorizia, Italy, will participate in the delivery. This is the first complete machine delivery from Metso Paper to this company, but Metso recently supplied a replacement Yankee cylinder to one of the company's existing tissue machines.
Fabrica De Papel San Francisco currently operates two tissue production lines and converting facilities delivering tissue products for the Mexican market.
The Mexican tissue production amounted to approx. 760,000 tons in 2003. During the previous four years the annual production growth has been approx. 4 %. The Mexican tissue producers mainly serve the domestic market.
