Metso Paper has received two major recycled fiber technology orders, which strengthen the company's position in the recycled fiber technology market. Metso Paper will supply a complete recycled fiber line to Stora Enso’s Heinola Fluting Mill in Finland and a deinking line to the P.T. Adiprima Suraprinta newsprint mill in Indonesia. Both orders include the OptiSlush drum pulper technology, which Metso Paper introduced in late 2001.

Recycled fiber line to Stora Enso Stora Enso selected Metso Paper to supply a complete recycled fiber line with a capacity of 120 tpd to the Heinola Fluting Mill in Finland. The raw material for the recycled fiber line will consist of carton clippings (CLC) from Stora Enso's converting plants.

The Metso Paper delivery includes the new OptiSlush drum pulper, cleaning, OptiScreen screening, OptiThick gravity thickening and all key auxiliaries for the complete line. The scope of supply is on turn key basis except for the building. The delivery will take place in the autumn, with start-up in December, 2002.

The Metso Paper Technology Center in Anjalankoski, Finland, provided facilities for Stora Enso to conduct comprehensive trial runs with the raw material supplied by Stora Enso.

In addition to Metso Paper's new OptiSlush drum pulper, the delivery includes all other key subprocesses, featuring OptiScreen screening, cleaning, OptiBright deinking flotation, OptiFiner dispersion and OptiBright high-consistency peroxide bleaching as well as basic engineering, installation and commissioning services.

The main delivery is scheduled for autumn 2002 and the new line will start up late in 2002.
