Metso Paper to deliver a tissuemaking line to Turkey

Metso Paper will supply a complete state-of-the-art tissue machine line to a Turkish tissue manufacturer Lila Kagit in Corlu, about 100 km west of Istanbul. The machine start-up is planned for the third quarter of 2007. The contract also includes an option for a second tissue line.

The market value of these types of tissue production lines ranges from EUR 20 million to 30 million, depending on the scope of delivery and production output.

The scope of the delivery covers a complete tissuemaking line. Besides the Advantage DCT 200 tissue machine, it includes, among other things, stock preparation equipment, process ventilation, controls, electrical equipment, basic engineering services, erection, start-up and training services.

The capacity of the line using virgin fiber will be 195 tonnes per day of tissue paper for facial, toilet, napkin and towel products. This capacity will be Turkey’s largest on a single tissue machine.

Lila Kagit belongs to the Marmara Pamuklu Mensucat San.ve TiC. A.S. Group. The company was established in 1980 and is now one of the leading producers of yarn and dyed yarn.
