Published June 2, 2008 12.00.00 +2 GMT

Metso Paper will initiate personnel negotiations concerning concentration of hard coating of rolls in Finland to Jyväskylä. Concentrating would close the Riihimäki Service Point, employing approximately 10 persons. All of them will be offered new jobs in Jyväskylä. The company aims at carrying out the transfer this year.

The target of the concentration is to improve the cost efficiency and competitiveness.

The effects of the personnel arrangements are estimated non-material to Metso. A more detailed estimation can be made after the conclusion of the negotiations.

Hard coating is applied e.g. for paper industry rolls and other components calling for wear resistance.
