MW Power will supply Savon Voima a 8 MW heating plant to be located in Suonenjoki, Finland. MW Power will also supply Virrat municipality a 6 MW heating plant to Virrat, Finland. The start-up of the plants is scheduled for the last quarter of 2011.

The received orders are EPC (turnkey) deliveries without foundation works and include flue gas condensing system delivered by Metso’s Power business line. For Savon Voima also 8 MW HFO (heavy fuel oil) boiler is included to the delivery as peakload and reserve boiler.

Plants will use locally supplied bark, sawdust, wood chips and peat as fuel and will reduce the use of oil. The new plants will produce heat to the district heating networks.

Previously MW Power has delivered Savon Voima similar plants also to Toivala, Siilinjärvi and Pielavesi in Finland. Savon Voima Corporation is one of the biggest energy companies in Finland; its subsidiary company Savon Voima Lämpö is focusing on producing heat and electricity by local biofuels.
