Valmet supplied Advantage DCT tissue line started up by the hour at ICT in Poland

The Advantage DCT tissue making technology has proven to be highly reliable. Smooth start-ups have become more the rule than the exception. This was the case also when ICT Poland’s new tissue line in Kostrzyn came on stream, the demanding date having been set since the beginning of the Project. However, one thing was different from prior start-ups. On this one, the customer had also set the exact hour of the chosen day for the start-up to happen, and had organized a company-wide celebration to go in sync.

As if in a perfectly rehearsed screenplay, exactly at 1 pm on December 16, 2015, the Advantage DCT 200HS machine started to produce its first tissue paper destined to the European market, exactly according to the original plan.

“Our ICT Italy and ICT Poland teams did an excellent job on this project, in a really good partnership with the Valmet team. The atmosphere was always positive and proactive throughout the working period. We always maintained the confidence needed to complete all tasks exactly on time, to the hour,” says Riccardo Baccelli, Executive Director, ICT.

"Our ambition was to make this start-up a benchmark in the market and it was of course a thrilling moment before we could note that it was. This is a success based on partnership and long term relations combined with well proven and efficient technology," says Jan Erikson, VP Sales, Tissue Mills business unit, Valmet.
