Access to Valmet’s @Field Service Management Application

 

Access is granted this Application to a user company subject to that it (a) complies with Valmet’s instructions about use of the Application and (b) informs all of its employees (service professionals) in question and its own sub-suppliers about the below notice about processing of personal data.

Valmet may update, add, or otherwise amend instructions about use of the Application, such as the following notice about processing of personal data, at any time at its sole option.

 

Processing of personal data by Valmet in @Field Service Management Application

 

The data is controlled and processed by Valmet Oyj for running Valmet services business. The data is used for service operations by Valmet authorized users. Operations include locating and assigning correct resources and managing user access to Valmet services and materials.

The legal basis for the processing is legitimate interests pursued by Valmet, the data controller.  The data items processed can include names of service professionals, their companies, titles, addresses, availability for work and other contact details such as telephone numbers and email addresses. Usernames and passwords are processed for authentication and authorization.  Skills, competencies and copies of certifications can also be added when needed.

The data may be accessed by relevant personnel within the Valmet group, as well as data processors Valmet is contracting for supporting its business. The data may also be given to other data controllers including Valmet’s customers due to business needs. Such needs may arise e.g. when arranging access to project sites or presenting workforce qualifications to customers or certification bodies. By default, the data will be stored in the EU. However, when needed, the data may be accessed by Valmet personnel from outside of the EU. EU Model Clauses are used as appropriate safeguards for the access from outside of the EEA. The data will be stored for a Valmet business relevant duration. Valmet will maintain customer and supplier relationship information for a period which may exceed 10 years.

Valmet will support the applicable data subject’s rights. This includes their rights of access to, rectification of, or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing concerning the data subject or to object to processing including direct marketing. The data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (data protection authority).
