Valmet actions concerning coronavirus Covid-19
Valmet is committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees, partners and customers, as well as the communities in which we operate. The coronavirus pandemic is a dynamic, rapidly evolving global crisis and we want to collaborate with everyone to reduce the risks to the employees of our customers, suppliers, partners and visitors as well as our own people and our businesses.
Valmet established both a Global Incident Management Team (IMT) and a local China IMT to manage Valmet’s response to the coronavirus epidemic right in the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak. We have been working hard to ensure that Valmet employees and teams worldwide have up-to-date information and guidance about the situation. Additionally, local and regional IMTs have been established while the epidemic has continued to spread further.
Here are some of the proactive steps we have taken to minimize the risk of exposure to this disease:
- We utilize online meetings and other business communication technology as much as possible.
- We advise that nobody should come to work place when feeling unwell.
- We have actively reviewed our work and travel instructions and we provide our employees with regular travel advice updates and guidance.
- We provide clear guidance to all employees and managers on how to prevent infection and how to react in the case of suspected infection.
We continue to monitor the Covid-19 virus outbreak very closely and we are doing our utmost to protect the health and well-being of everyone involved in our everyday work. We do everything reasonably possible to continue serving our customers through our strong local presence, our global supplier base and our remote services manned by our experts in the Valmet Performance Centers.
