Bleaching of chemical pulp

The key success factors in bleaching chemical pulp are effective mixing of bleaching chemicals into the pulp, well-defined retention times in bleaching reactors and barrier washing between bleaching stages. Barrier washing results in low chemical consumption, low effluent flows and the possibility to operate at zero fresh water consumption.

The Valmet Liquor Filter effectively separates fibers from the spent liquor. All recovered fiber is returned to the pulping line for additional gain. An investment of a Liquor Filter will reduce fiber loss and ensure continuous economical operation for your evaporators.

Turpentine decanting

Sulfate turpentine is an economically important by-product which can be recovered from the Kraft pulping of resinous woods. High separation efficiency of turpentine from water phase is possible in a Linder type turpentine decanter. The turpentine decanter is in principal a cylindrical vessel, equipped with a conical funnel in the bottom part and with an overflow for separated turpentine in the upper part.
