Valmet has tested a first-of-a-kind scrubber and wet electrostatic precipitator combination and cut exhaust gas emissions in a marine diesel engine by up to 99%. The solution could allow shipping companies to lower their particle matter and black carbon emission levels, tackle global warming and comply with tightening regulation. The pilot testing and configuration project was carried out together with VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd (VTT).

Successful IntelliJet V hydraulic headboxes start-up at Shindaeyang Banwol mill in Korea

Valmet delivered the main two IntelliJet V hydraulic headboxes with dilution system to existing board machines BM1 (3330mm at reel/600mpm operating speed) and BM2 (4040mm at reel/650 mpm operating speed) at the Shindaeyang Paper Co., Ltd. at Banwol mill in Korea. The purpose of the investment was to improve the cross-direction basis weight profile, improve overall paper quality, and increase the speed. The guaranteed numbers were achieved on the first day after start-up and noteworthy is the fact that several of these figures surpassed the guaranteed benchmarks.

Valmet partners with KROENERT to elevate quality management and automation solutions for coating and laminating customers

In this collaboration, Valmet will supply its quality management solutions such as Valmet IQ Scanner, IQ Moisturizer into KROENERT’s coating and laminating lines, enabling data analysis, optimization of production conditions, and close-loop control for KROENERT’s machines.

Valmet opens a new global production unit in Jelenia Gora, Poland

Valmet is proud to announce the grand opening of its new Global Production Unit in Jelenia Gora, Poland. The unit produces spare parts and consumables such as doctoring products and dewatering elements to papermakers globally. The inauguration ceremony was held on March 4, 2025, and was attended by the local authorities, media, Valmet’s management and the local production teams. This milestone marks the completion of the unit’s full-scale transformation to a global production unit.
