With the startup of its latest tissue machine, TM4, the company selected Valmet consistency measurements to help ensure reliable process control and support its growing premium tissue business.
Proven technology and local support influenced the decision
To achieve accurate consistency control throughout the process, Xuan Mai Paper selected Valmet’s consistency measurement technology. The delivery included five Valmet Blade Consistency Measurements (Valmet SP), four Valmet Optical Consistency Measurements (Valmet OC), and two Valmet Rotating Consistency Measurement (Valmet Rotary) installed at key process locations such as after the pulper, machine chest, and other strategic points in the stock preparation process. In addition to the consistency measurements, Xuan Mai Paper also has installed a Valmet Brightness Measurement (Valmet Cormec5 X).
According to Xuan Mai Paper, Valmet was chosen because of its strong reputation in the pulp and paper industry, proven measurement performance, and extensive expertise in tissue manufacturing.
The availability of local support through ATZ Solutions, Valmet’s certified partner in Vietnam, further strengthened confidence in the investment.

The installation and startup phase progressed efficiently with close cooperation between Xuan Mai Paper, ATZ Solutions, and Valmet specialists. Support included installation planning, measurement location marking, calibration, and commissioning activities. Since startup, the consistency measurements have operated reliably and delivered stable performance without issues.
