The demand for CTMP lines in recent years has driven Valmet to further develop its flash drying technology. The result is a flexible and energy-efficient system that can be scaled to the optimal size, using the best heat source at each pulp mill.
BioCMPC – a major upgrade and modernization project of CMPC Guaíba mill’s line 2 – opens the next chapter in the mill’s story. The investment will result in a major leap in the mill’ sustainability and operational efficiency, and increase their annual pulp production capacity by 350 thousand tonnes.
The Valmet Belt Dryer is a low-temperature dryer for biomasses like bark, woodchips, sawdust, bagasse and agricultural waste. Its proven technology ensures high end material dryness and utilizes waste heat from the mill, keeping energy costs low.
The rebuilt TMP line, now converted to high temperature chemi-thermomechanical pulp, HT-CTMP, production has been taken over and is now operated by SCA Ortviken pulp mill. Tests runs have been executed and the quality of required pulp product mix has been approved.
