Oct 26, 2023

Papel San Francisco is a family own tissue producer based in Mexicali, Mexico, producing tissue and towel grades. The collaboration with Valmet started about 20 years ago and recently Papel San Francisco invested in their seventh tissue machine from Valmet. However, this time was worth celebrating a little extra, especially for Valmet since the delivery includes the hundredth Advantage™ ViscoNip® press to be manufactured by Valmet.

Papel San Francisco invests in Valmet's Advantage ViscoNip Press

The Advantage ViscoNip press is a patented and unique product which has proven to be fundamental to reach various production benefits for tissue makers world-wide.

When Dario Palma y Meza Espinoza, Director of Operations and Enrique Zárate, Mill Manager, last visited Valmet in Sweden we took the opportunity to ask them what role the ViscoNip press plays for their production.

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when we say Advantage ViscoNip press?

For us it’s uniformity because all the profiles we get in the machine are very unique. It’s a huge difference between other machines.

How has the ViscoNip press improved your production?

We have seen increase in quality of the paper but also less down time for maintenance. It has very good reliability. In addition, our operators states that it is easy to operate and easy maintenance.

What was your initial reason for investing in the ViscoNip press?

Our decision was driven by our wish to save energy and the ViscoNips press gave us potential to reach those goals.

Considering your experience, what would be the main reasons for anyone to select the ViscoNip?

To make it short: Paper quality and energy savings.
