Metsä Tissue’s site at Žilina is a significant producer of hygiene products such as toilet tissues, household towels and handkerchiefs for Slovakian market. The mill produce 80,000 tonnes of tissue paper per year. Valmet has been supporting the site’s production with maintenance service.

Roll change interval increased from one to two years with Lock Seal
The Adolf Jass Fulda mill chose the Lock Seal axial seal technology developed and patented by Valmet. Nowadays it is a standard solution in Valmet's high-speed machines. Each existing roll including a competing product can be modernized with Valmet Lock Seal.

Galileo’s diamonds are the grinder’s best friends
Sappi Ngodwana mill’s Groundwood Galileo project was initiated to have the mill’s traditional grinders equipped with Valmet’s unique Galileo grinding technology. The delivery and installation of the last two units were however interfered by Covid-19, but due to open-minded use of virtual technology and seamless co-operation between Valmet and Sappi, the project was successfully closed on time and within budget.

Metsä Board Joutseno BCTMP mill aims for high operational reliability. In addition to replacing their aging twin wire press rolls, they have selected one partner for everything: rolls, covers and services.
