Valmet Batch Cooking, Washing and Bleaching at ITC Bhadrachalam

A major upgrade project of ITC Fiberline iincreased production capacity and efficiency. In collaboration with Valmet, upgrades included an additional batch cooking, washing upgrades and a shift to a single bleaching line, resulting in improved productivity, more consistent pulp quality, and promising reductions in chemical consumption.

Valmet Recovery Boiler and Ash Leaching at ITC Bhadrachalam

ITC replaced three smaller recovery boilers with a single, high power recovery boiler to support increased pulp production. The new boiler, equipped with advanced ash leaching systems, has delivered strong reliability, over 18 months runnability between shutdowns, and improved operational stability—while also increasing the company’s renewable energy share from 43% to 53%.

Valmet NCG collection and handling solution at ITC Bhadrachalam

ITC implemented a comprehensive non-condensable gases (NCG) collection and incineration system to improve safety and environmental performance, making the mill area odor-free. The project was preceded with a comprehensive study by Valmet and is implemented to capture odorous gases from around 180 sources across the pulp and recovery plants. The Valmet NCG solution was successfully commissioned without disrupting ongoing operations.

Valmet's delivery for Arauco Sucuriú project in Brazil

Arauco is building a complete hardwood kraft pulp mill in Inocencia, Mato Grosso do Sul state, Brazil. The Arauco Sucuriú is the largest greenfield pulp mill project ever built in a single-phase. The pulp production capacity of the mill will be 3.5 million tonne per year. Valmet delivery for the Arauco Sucuriú project covers EPCC delivery of all key process islands and mill automation.
