Valmet Furnace Imaging System, Portable Mid-IR
Valmet Furnace Imaging System, Portable Mid-IR infrared camera kit contains everything an engineer or operator needs to inspect a boiler from any accessible port.
The core of the mobile inspection camera kit is an infrared camera designed to see through flue gas and fly ash at temperatures of 370°C to 1900°C. With the addition of a low light lens, the camera sees in the 90°C to 370°C range, enabling inspection of surfaces exterior to the boiler.
The camera aids in visual observation inside the furnace environment, providing information about slag buildup, burner operation, flame position, and heat exchanger tube pluggage. The kit comes with a high-performance straight lens tube that is 50 centimeters long and provides a 30° field of view. The double-wall, air-cooled, stainless steel lens tube is designed to withstand the harsh boiler environment.
The mobility kit is contained in a single wheeled case and includes an air filter and connection hose, rechargeable batteries and charger, and a heat shield to protect the user. The camera used in the mobility kit can also be used in a fixed installation. In this scenario, the camera is removed from its permanent installation only when used for a mobile inspection. Customers who use the mobility kit frequently purchase a digital video recorder to record video and an off-axis lens tube, which provides 360° views of the boiler walls.
The benefits of using the Portable Mid-IR camera for internal boiler condition inspection include higher boiler availability, reduced risk of catastrophic failure, improved heat transfer efficiency and lower maintenance costs.
The benefits of using the system for shell and electrical equipment inspection include the ability to identify leaks, detect hot spots and avoid equipment failure.
