Valmet’s flexible optimization suite accelerates process performance

Valmet Oyj’s trade press release on June 2, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. EEST

Valmet introduces the Valmet DNAe Optimization Suite, a scalable software suite of optimization applications designed to improve plant performance and operational efficiency. It can be delivered to process plants using control systems supplied by Valmet as well as those from other providers.

“Process optimization helps reduce variability, improve energy efficiency, and increase throughput while maintaining stable operations. With the Valmet DNAe Optimization Suite, our customers’ engineering teams can configure and deploy optimization applications themselves, or work with us, depending on their needs,” says Petri Köykkä, Director, Plant Performance Solutions, Energy & Process Systems, Automation Solutions, Valmet.

The new digital solution enables performance improvements across the entire plant or specific subprocesses. It is well suited for applications in circular processes, hydrogen industries, as well as traditional chemical and refining operations.

The Optimization Suite is part of the broader Valmet DNAe journey. Through continuous development of new tools, features, and AI capabilities, Valmet aims to better support customers, strengthen collaboration with value-added reseller partners and OEMs, and drive sustainable growth in process industries. With this development, Valmet continues to build capabilities that enable customers to move toward more autonomous operations.

Continuous workflow from insight to action

Valmet DNAe Optimization Suite supports an iterative optimization workflow that connects performance monitoring, application design, and operational optimization. Teams can use dashboards and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities, build and validate models using real process data, and deploy advanced control applications to improve throughput, stability, and efficiency.

Within the suite, customers and Valmet specialists can develop and run machine learning models onpremise with seamless database integration and direct connections to control solutions and operational applications.

Integrated with Valmet DNAe

Valmet DNAe Optimization Suite can be fully integrated with the Valmet DNAe Distributed Control System, supporting straightforward commissioning and lifecycle management. It can also be delivered as a standalone optimization layer for plants operating with other control systems.

The suite includes a scalable application portfolio covering model predictive control (MPC) and non-linear rule-based methods for advanced process controls, virtual sensor capabilities and a calculation library for estimation and online modeling, as well as controller design tools and analytics and dashboard creation.
