Valmet to replace Hansol Paper’s legacy quality control systems (QCS) to enhance quality, efficiency, and long term reliability
Valmet will replace three existing quality control systems from other suppliers with Valmet IQ Quality Control Systems (QCS) at Hansol Paper’s Janghang, Shintanjin, and Cheonan mills in Korea. The new systems will enable Hansol Paper to achieve high product quality while optimizing efficiency. With seamless integration into the existing systems, the future-ready solution will support the next level of automation, enabling more optimized operations and improved cost efficiency.
The solution for the three mills combines scanners, related measurements, as well as MD and CD Controls. By combining advanced quality control technology with lifecycle services and support, Hansol Paper can further secure long-term system performance and production reliability.
“We selected Valmet as our partner to strengthen operational reliability and support our long-term competitiveness. After evaluating several suppliers, we determined that Valmet was the best partner to support our transition toward a smarter, more data-driven production environment. The new Valmet QCS will help us improve process stability, reduce maintenance risks, and provide more accurate and consistent quality data for better decision-making. Beyond a technology upgrade, this investment lays an important foundation for our digital transformation, enabling higher levels of automation, improved efficiency, reduced waste, and more sustainable production in the future,” says Hongjin Kim, Electrical part manager at Shintanjin mill, Hansol Paper.
“Part of what makes Valmet IQ QCS so customer-friendly is how easily it can be configured to the customer’s exact needs. Hansol Paper’s trust in Valmet’s advanced automation and quality control solutions and our ability to support their targets for operational excellence, improved efficiency, and sustainability throughout the entire lifecycle of their operations gives our team great pride, and we look forward to delivering,” says Keunmo Yeoun, Solution Sales Manager, Automation Solutions business area, Valmet.
