Valmet strengthens its position as an attractive employer for IT talent in Finland

Valmet continues to be recognized as one of the most attractive employers in Finland for engineering students, according to the latest survey by Universum.

Ranking as the 6th most appealing employer among engineering students in the 2026 survey, this year’s results also revealed a considerable surge in Valmet’s appeal for IT students: in one year, Valmet’s position amongst the most attractive employers among IT students rose from the 41st rung to the 27th in 2026. This makes Valmet one of the fastest growing attractive employer brands for students in the IT field.

I am thrilled that we continue to attract the great emerging talent we have in Finland,”

Anu Pires, Executive Vice President, People, Communications and Culture, Valmet

Valmet has an extraordinary history of innovation, and while that’s firmly rooted in engineering, we serve complex industries that need complex solutions. Those are born at the intersection of engineering, IT, business, and many other disciplines.”

Nurturing young talent through internships

Each year, Valmet invites students and recent graduates in Finland to apply for internships, most of which take place during the summer. The company receives applications from many institutions and fields of study which further confirms that Valmet is increasingly seen as an attractive employer for young people across the board.

“We’re happy to receive such a high volume of excellent applications for our roles, including for our internship opportunities. It’s a privilege to meet with our interns and hear fresh perspectives from them. We strive to offer them the best possible experience at Valmet at the beginning of their career journeys,” Anu Pires adds.
