Improved energy efficiency with real-time energy performance monitoring

Valmet DNAe Energy Management System

Valmet DNAe Energy Management System (EMS) handles the energy performance for machinery and hotel technical systems. The EMS provides an overview of the energy usage and performance of all major onboard energy consumers and is a valuable tool to improve total energy efficiency.

Long-term follow-up

Valmet DNAe Energy Management System (EMS) is a suite of energy monitoring applications built on the Valmet Information Management System (IMS). It empowers shipboard crews and shore-based fleet managers to track real-time, normalized energy use and performance deviations across all core machinery and ventilation energy producers & consumers.

EMS natively integrates with any vessel running Valmet DNAe automation via the system bus, and supports third-party control system connectivity through Modbus or OPC. Energy dashboards are accessible across all automation operator stations, while the Valmet DNAe Report portal delivers graphical trending, custom reports. Shipowners can remotely access historical datasets to generate standardized KPI-aligned reports, enabling fair performance benchmarking across different voyages or vessels.

While EMS does not include standalone navigation optimization tools, it seamlessly interfaces with onboard voyage optimization software to deliver a unified end-to-end platform for full vessel energy monitoring and efficiency tuning.

Real-time information

Valmet’s energy management is built on the Valmet DNAe information system platform. The real-time monitoring and reporting includes selected key performance indicators (KPIs).
