Huatai pulp mill cooking and fiber line successfully started up
Shandong Huatai Paper Industry Co., Ltd. has announced the successful start-up of its new chemical pulp line, which includes cooking and fiber line delivered by Valmet. This marks a further strengthening of Huatai Paper's integrated pulp and paper production. The entire chemical pulp line was supplied by Valmet. The line is designed for high-quality bleached hardwood kraft pulp with an annual production capacity of 700,000 tonnes. This enhances Huatai’s self-sufficiency in paper raw material and makes it one of the largest domestic pulp production sites.

"Today, we stand at a new starting point with the successful start-up of Huatai Paper's cooking and fiber line! This is not only an important step in pulp and paper integration for Huatai Paper but also another significant achievement of the deepened cooperation between Huatai Paper and Valmet. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the team members from Huatai and Valmet who participated in the project! I believe that through our joint efforts and continuous innovation, Huatai Paper will continue to make progress on the path of technological and industrial development and create more brilliant achievements," says Wei Lijun, General Manager, Shandong Huatai Paper.
"We are very pleased with the successful commissioning of the Huatai chemical pulp line project! During the project, facing problems and challenges, with Valmet's professional technical strength and efficient collaboration, we quickly carried out debugging and optimization work, accurately solving each problem and effectively ensured the overall progress of the project. The cooking, washing and bleaching sections were successfully commissioned at the first attempt, achieving a seamless process from chip feeding to pulp production," says Sun Changgeng Vice General Manager, Shandong Huatai Paper.
“We are delighted to have been able to work together with our project and on-site team and Huatai’s team to ensure a successful commissioning and start-up of the new chemical pulp line where Valmet was the main technology provider for the main process islands. We would like to express our gratitude to Huatai Paper for their trust in us as supplier and partner. The TwinRoll Presses, which are the first ones locally produced in China at our Xi’an workshop, and also the Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) fully done in China are good example of our strong local presence.
We will continue to support Huatai through their whole lifecycle, providing fast service response, as well as an efficient production line that can produce high quality pulp with low energy consumption and secure near-zero emissions to strengthen their circular economy journey,” says Igor Felipe Panassol, Vice President of Pulp and Energy Business Line, China Area, Valmet.
