Fifteen years of operational excellence

The Puyang Longfeng team, led by General Manager Wang Wei and Deputy General Manager Feng Dongwang, along with the Valmet team, led by Yan Guirong, Director of PES, China Service, attended the ceremony.

Mr. Yan congratulated Puyang Longfeng Paper, highlighting the 15 years of fault-free operation with the nine Valmet RF low-consistency refiners as an industry milestone and model. He attributed this to the Longfeng team’s careful use and the high standard of maintenance, as well as the high quality and performance of Valmet’s equipment. General Manager Wang Wei welcomed the Valmet team, highlighting the importance of quality equipment, strict maintenance, and teamwork. Mr. Yan Guirong then awarded a certificate and placard to Puyang Longfeng Paper for their outstanding performance.

Standards create excellence

After the ceremony, both parties dived deeply into a discussion of their operation status, usage experience, and maintenance experience of the refiners. Mr. Feng Dongwang praised the cooperation with Valmet highly, saying the experience had been excellent, and sharing the following insights: “Valmet RF-4i LC refiners have significantly reduced the energy consumption in Longfeng’s refining section. The pulp quality after refining is great, allowing a reduction in the proportion of NBKP and increased BCTMP utilization, while maintaining the paper machine’s stable speed. The increased flow in the refiners has brought greater flexibility to paper machine operations, enabling easy switching of paper grades and producing paper with high GSM. The refiner segments’ extended lifetime has effectively reduced shutdown time, improved the stability of the refiners, and reduced our maintenance costs.”

The teams also discussed future optimization paths for the pulp refiners and segments.

Sharing experience

Additionally, the Longfeng team shared their valuable experience accumulated from daily maintenance, including strict observance of the maintenance manual, regular checking of lubricating oil and couplings, and implementing vibration detection. In terms of the process, they focus on the regular replacement and optimization of refiner segments, providing a solid guarantee of the equipment’s stable operation.

Fifteen years of fault-free operation is an industry milestone and model.

Embracing the future with an open mind

The event reached its climax with discussions of future optimization paths for the pulp refiners and segments, as well as cutting-edge topics like Valmet’s Industrial Internet (VII). The Longfeng team emphasized the necessity of maintaining an open mind, and the importance of embracing new technologies and intelligent production for greater development. They looked forward to further cooperation with Valmet to enhance production efficiency and quality. Mr. Yan promised continued support with advanced technology and services to help Longfeng achieve higher production goals.
