Upgrades to pulp drying system drive performance forward
Higher consistency means higher efficiency
Sappi Saiccor's mill in South Africa installed a Twin Blade model of Valmet Microwave Consistency Measurement to achieve higher consistencies for higher efficiency and lower solids losses.
Mercer Rosenthal uses continuous chip moisture measurement for optimized chemical dosing
Mercer Rosenthal relies on continuous moisture measurement to get more knowledge on the exact water content to optimize their chemical dosing to the digester.
Reduction of SO2 levels with reliable temperature measurement
North American kraft pulp mill monitors the recovery boiler's bed height and shape with Valmet's infrared camera.
Propapier PM 2 - Progress exactly according to plan
Propapier produces high-quality corrugated board base papers exclusively on the basis of waste paper. Propapier supplies a wide range of different paper types. The special technology of PM2 makes it possible to produce lightweight, fibre-saving Next Fibre® papers for lighter and yet equally efficient corrugated boards.
Steam profiler generates energy savings at Smurfit Kappa Nettingsdorf
Smurfit Kappa Nettingsdorf is one of the leading producers for Kraftliner in Europe. Their PM6 has a capacity of up to 450,000 ton/year. Energy efficiency is a key element in their management system in order to improve operational costs and reduced environmental impact. An existing steambox was found to work inefficient, and after careful evaluation of the current process parameters and assessment of improvement potential, Nettingsdorf decided to replace this steambox by state of the art Valmet IQ Steam Profiler. Target was to achieve a significant decrease in specific steam consumption for the paper machine.
Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill and Valmet’s shared journey forward
Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill has a Valmet co-operation service agreement for maintenance and remote control of the Valmet Breast Roll Shakers (earlier FormMaster) on both of its paper machines PM 9 and PM 10. The service agreement has increased the reliability of the mill ensuring that the paper they produce remains of high quality.
Improved board machine performance at Cartiere Villa Lagarina
The new Valmet runnability systems at the Cartiere Villa Lagarina mill have significantly reduced web breaks and the subsequent production losses, increasing the reliability of the board machine. The average production speed has increased by more than 150 m/min, and maintenance shutdown intervals have also increased.
Reliable and accurate retention measurement at Stora Enso Skoghall
With Valmet RM3 Stora Enso Skoghall has optimized it's chemical usage and now has a better understanding of what is going on in all five wet ends.
Retention measurement for a secure start-up
Four Valmet RM3 sensors were supplied to Stora Enso Varkaus to measure wet end consistencies with the exclusive ability to monitor both total and true ash consistency from the process for active fines retention management.
