Nickel mine sought durable flow control to tackle harsh slurry

Recurring valve failures in abrasive slurry pipelines were causing downtime in one of Australia’s nickel operations. Flowrox™ PVEG pinch valves offered a lightweight, corrosion‑free and low‑maintenance solution for slurry transfer and spigot isolation. After successful trials, the mine began replacing existing valve types across its tailings operations, leading to more than 160 PVEG valves installed. Paired with Flowrox LPP‑T hose pumps, they support critical duties from thickener underflow to analyzer sampling.
