Valmet's delivery for Arauco Sucuriú project in Brazil

Arauco is building a complete hardwood kraft pulp mill in Inocencia, Mato Grosso do Sul state, Brazil. The Arauco Sucuriú is the largest greenfield pulp mill project ever built in a single-phase. The pulp production capacity of the mill will be 3.5 million tonne per year. Valmet delivery for the Arauco Sucuriú project covers EPCC delivery of all key process islands and mill automation.

BioCMPC major upgrade project

The upgraded and modernized CMPC Guaíba pulp mill line II was started up in November 2023. The projects’ aim was to increase the production capacity by 18% percent, increasing the whole mill’s annual production capacity to 2.3 million tonnes.

Asia Symbol's PHV conversion project successfully commissioned

On November 18th, 2024, Asia Symbol (Shandong) Pulp and Paper Co., Ltd. successfully commissioned the rebuild of the PL12 pre-hydrolysis vessel (PHV) into a kraft digester, which was smoothly integrated into the pulp line under normal operation, marking a one-time successful start-up of the innovation project.

Methanol - from pulp mill waste byproduct to valuable fuel

Technology has been used for several years to liquify methanol from SOG. A new process has been developed to produce purified methanol that can be sold as a green renewable fuel, transforming an undesirable waste byproduct into a potential new revenue stream for the pulp mill.
