More energy production flexibility for Nevel’s Forssa power plant with Valmet DNA Energy Management

Valmet is to deliver a Valmet DNA Energy Management system to Nevel’s remote operation centre to improve energy production flexibility at the company’s Forssa district heating plant in Finland. The new system will be integrated with Nevel’s existing Valmet Distributed Control System (DCS). This solution will enhance energy production planning and enable the company to participate more profitably and flexibly in reserve markets by utilizing a new electric boiler.

"We selected Valmet because they truly understood our requirements and offered a solution that integrates smoothly with our existing Valmet DCS. The system can also be easily scaled to include other plants in addition to the Forssa district heating facility, while ensuring secure connectivity with third-party systems. Valmet’s experience with similar deliveries convinced us of their expertise, and the solution aligns perfectly with our strategy to engage more actively in reserve markets,” says Tuure Laurila, Operation Center Manager at Nevel.
