Joining forces for innovation with SAICA El Burgo's new off-line coating machine

SAICA was aiming for improved quality, reduced costs, and responsible fiber use, but it found itself with innovative coated white top liner grades with better properties than they bargained for. This was a result of three partners – SAICA, Valmet and pigment supplier Omya – joining forces.

Valmet continues to invest in its pilot facilities

Valmet’s Paper Technology Center in Järvenpää, Finland, provides the best available paper finishing piloting trials. To be even better and to correspond more accurately to the mill environment, the sizing section at the pilot facility has been updated with new spray beams, rolls, hard roll covers and web heating system.

Improved board machine performance at Cartiere Villa Lagarina

The new Valmet runnability systems at the Cartiere Villa Lagarina mill have significantly reduced web breaks and the subsequent production losses, increasing the reliability of the board machine. The average production speed has increased by more than 150 m/min, and maintenance shutdown intervals have also increased.
