Valmet’s Quality Control System to enhance efficiency and sustainability at Papeterie Le Bourray’s new production line in France

Valmet has received an order to deliver a complete Valmet IQ Quality Control System to Papeterie Le Bourray, a global leader in recycled tissue paper, for its new production line in France. The order is included in Valmet’s orders received for the third quarter 2025, with scheduled delivery in the fourth quarter of 2026.

 

Delivery's technical information 

The delivery includes a Valmet IQ Scanner L, Valmet IQ Basis Weight Measurement and Valmet IQ IR Moisture Measurement with closed-loop basis weight and moisture controls.

Valmet IQ is a comprehensive quality monitoring and control system that covers the entire production line and beyond. It combines any of the key elements of a QCS system such as scanners, measurements, controls, and applications. With more accurate data available and state-of-the-art multivariable control technology, customers can optimize the entire production process and the quality of the end product as well as maximize the business results.

 

About the customer

Papeterie Le Bourray is a world-known manufacturer of a range of specialist cellulose wadding for specialist uses and techniques such as filtration, sanitary towels, and the medical and hygiene sectors.

The company’s mill in Saint-Mars-La-Brière produces premium quality white and colored tissue paper. The mill has historical roots from the 1840s and started its tissue production in 1974. In 2019 the mill became independent, still focusing on tissue production and also investing to develop recycled fiber production.
