Lifecycle commitment built in
At Valmet, we want to be our customers’ long-term partner, and we aim to provide the support they need over the whole lifecycle, throughout every phase. But lifecycle thinking isn’t just about offering support at the right time; it’s also about designing equipment and solutions with operability and maintainability in mind, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery, operations, and optimized lifecycle costs.
A whole lifecycle approach
People often think that the lifecycle begins at installation or project delivery, but it starts long before this, during the early design and R&D phases, and it continues long after, until the very end of the equipment’s operating life. We consider the whole lifecycle, and this lifecycle
commitment is built into our equipment and solutions. Valmet has a huge global installed base around the world, and we are ready to serve our customers no matter which phase of the lifecycle they are in or what the state of their equipment is. We’re here to help.
Starting from reliability and maintainability
Even though we have many different types of customers, there are common threads that connect them: they all aim to keep their production up and running without interruptions or disturbances, and to keep their performance at the right level. And, of course, they want to maintain this performance and competitiveness throughout all the years of operation.
With our lifecycle commitment, we’re adding to our customers’ performance, process stability and quality.
The first step to achieving these aims is reliable operations and proper maintenance. This means that things need to be designed for success from the start. With careful design, we can minimize unplanned downtime and keep planned downtime as short as possible. And we can build in upgrade paths to extend asset life and prepare for future demands. Optimizing operational costs is also very important in the current market environment, in addition to performance and reliability.
Supporting people
Lifecycle support is fundamentally about empowering people. Many of our customers face workforce challenges, particularly as experienced team members retire and recruiting new talent becomes increasingly difficult. Valmet is committed to helping address these lifecycle challenges. By maintaining close relationships with our customers, we offer hands-on assistance with daily operations, provide access to skilled experts and specialized knowledge onsite, and extend comprehensive remote support when needed. In addition, Valmet offers learning services to support customers with their development and their own competence at the mill.
Safety remains a top priority for both our customers and Valmet. We are committed to continuous improvement by consistently integrating safety within our lifecycle approach. This dedication supports our customers in achieving safer operational environments and processes for the future.
Improving our lifecycle offering
As we continue to develop our lifecycle concept, we’ll be further improving our ability to support customers in achieving better reliability, improved maintenance, higher quality and optimal performance. This commitment is true across all our businesses, and it’s strengthened by our advanced data and analytics capabilities, by our comprehensive services, and by our automation and flow control solutions. When we seamlessly integrate everything, we are well-equipped to serve our customers even better.
With Valmet’s lifecycle commitment, we’re leading the way towards a regenerative future, and helping our customers to reduce waste and embrace circularity. Through close collaboration and continuous improvement, we can extend the lifecycle of their operations and improve their process stability. We have the process knowledge to deliver measurable impact and create lasting value from start to finish.
