Valmet Perini ECOre is a retrofit-ready system designed to integrate seamlessly into existing production lines, ensuring smooth operations and fast interventions without the need for complex structural changes. This technology offers clients a clear advantage: a non-invasive upgrade which enables the production of both coreless and cored tissue paper rolls, while reducing cardboard use, improving efficiency and simplifying process management.
An evolution of the well-established Perini mandrel system, successfully implemented for more than 20 years in Away-from-Home (AFH) lines, Valmet Perini ECOre has been redesigned and optimized to meet the specific needs of the consumer segment, delivering high performance in terms of logs per minute and finished product quality.
One of Valmet Perini ECOre’s distinctive features is its retrofit-friendly architecture, which allows integration into existing lines without major changes to the production layout. The key element is the mandrel extraction system, positioned above the log loader. This solution ensures easy access to the unit while maintaining the original length of the line. Four extraction stations work simultaneously, guaranteeing constant, high-speed production. On each side, a dedicated transport system moves the mandrels from the extraction area to the rewinder, keeping the process efficient and steady.
In terms of performance, Perini ECOre has a production capacity of 20 logs per minute and aligns with industry requirements for roll length, density and quality. These parameters are essential to ensure that coreless rolls maintain their integrity throughout the value chain, from winding to cutting, packaging, palletizing, transportation and distribution in retail.
From a sustainability standpoint, removing the cardboard core significantly reduces material and adhesive use, bringing measurable benefits both environmentally and economically. In addition, Perini ECOre offers great flexibility: the system can quickly switch between producing cored and coreless rolls. This adaptability gives clients a competitive edge, enabling them to respond quickly to shifts in demand while maximizing return on investment.
