Longer coater roll running times at Siam Kraft, Wangsala Mill PM9

Siam Kraft Industry, Wangsala Mill, a significant player in the packaging paper industry and a subsidiary of SCGP, faced significant durability issues with their traditional backing roll rubber covers used at the coating station.

The previously used rubber roll covers were wearing out quickly, particularly on the edges, due to the use of hard-coated coater blades. To address this, the coater roll cover was upgraded from rubber to polyurethane: the highly wear-resistant Valmet Coater Roll Cover CC, with a hardness of 55 P&J. Additionally, the edge showers were optimized together with expert support from Valmet.

After optimizing the edge showers and switching to the Valmet Coater Roll Cover CC, we’ve seen remarkable results. The new cover has lasted over 8 months. We’re extremely satisfied with the performance and have already placed repeat orders!
