Valmet’s 4-step approach to resource efficiency begins with Benchmarking, which means comparing your mill’s performance with industry peers using reliable data, such as the data provided by this survey.

In step 2, Quantify, you dive deeper into the details by creating a process-area-specific roadmap for improvement actions. In step 3, Optimize, it is time to execute these detailed improvement actions. Optimizing your current production setup before making major investments or equipment modernizations is essential.

The fourth and final step, Invest, focuses on ensuring top performance for years to come by adopting the latest technologies, once current processes, equipment and in-house practices have been optimized. Therefore, the survey results serve as a practical tool, providing the foundation needed to progress through each step and achieve measurable improvements in resource efficiency.
